I entered the accountancy environment some 25 years ago with Ernst Whinney and KPMG.
Shortly after qualifying I set off on a 12 month OE. This, however, turned into a four year sojourn in England where I met Jackie, my wife.
Whilst in London I spent three years with Touche Ross (now Deloittes) in their corporate finance department, and then 18 months with a large European retail chain.
We returned to New Zealand in 1991 where I took up a position with the Serious Fraud Office to investigate many of the international funding transactions undertaken by Equiticorp.
Working as a business adviser has provided many rewarding and interesting moments. I particularly enjoy working with clients to help them grow and achieve their business and financial aspirations.
One of my areas of specialisation is in the structuring of business activities including the use of trusts together with strategic planning. This includes helping businesses become smarter and more efficient and therefore better placed to meet the challenges ahead.
Outside the office most of my leisure time is spent with my wife Jackie and our two boys. Although I am middle aged, my wife says that I am still a kid at heart. When it comes to sports, I enjoy playing soccer, the occasional game of golf, water skiing, and sampling fine red wine.
